Discount shoes and handbags at 6pm.com

December 2, 2008

During my visit to the US, I spent quite a bit of time searching for the best deal on kid’s shoes for my little guy.  After a week of price comparing, I decided to take a chance on a site I’d never heard of, 6pm.com.  I ordered a couple pairs of toddler shoes at 60% […]

Odenwaelder Babynest

November 16, 2008

Last year while in DC over the Christmas holidays, we received a lot of comments on how warm and snuggly Oliver looked in his stroller bag.  The stroller bag is a pretty common thing in Germany and the rest of Europe, so I thought I’d introduce you to the company that produces the baby stroller […]

Anna und Paul Soft-Sole Baby Shoes

November 11, 2008

Anna und Paul are slightly cooler, soft-soled, first-steps shoes.  They’re also slightly cheaper than Robeez, but still great quality.  There’s a German website that also ships outside of Germany, but requires a bank transfer before shipment.  The English website exists, but I had some trouble navigating it, it kept kicking me over to the German site.

Pedipeds Shoes - Review and Giveaway!

October 28, 2008

Until he was getting around on his feet rather than his knees, my son only wore shoes on special occasions. In fact, he’s the only barefoot ragamuffin in our big family photo from last Christmas. Apparently his cousins have more refined sartorial tastes. But once he started cruising, I saw why my friends sang the […]

Books for kids: the Maisy series

September 26, 2008

I’m not sure how we discovered the Maisy books by Lucy Cousins, I was probably just browsing Amazon.co.uk, but somehow I ran across the Maisy mouse series of books and ordered one.  Oliver just loves them.  The lift-the-flap books are made of seemingly very lightweight cardboard, but are sturdy enough to handle toddler abuse without […]

The Snack Trap

September 18, 2008

When my son started eating finger foods on the go, I looked for something to make my life easier. The last thing I wanted was to be picking blueberries out of the stroller seat or from between the seats in the car. On a casual trip to Babies R Us, I discovered The Snack Trap.  The […]

Crayon Rocks rock our world!

September 14, 2008

Not so long ago, my mom purchased The Boy some Crayon Rocks. I admit to planting the seed after seeing them on another blog, and they are wonderful. For young hands, they are easier to hold, encourage the tripod hold for older children, and color beautifully. Crayon rocks are made of soy wax and minerals. […]

See Kai Run shoes

August 30, 2008

So far, my favorite shoes are by See Kai Run. They’re stylish, soft, flexible, and with the current dollar/euro exchange rate, a lot more affordable than the brands sold here in Germany. The story of the founding of the company, from their website: Kai is the son of owners and founders, Cause Haun and Gang […]

Not So Good Stuff: Bino Wobbly Stacker

August 12, 2008

I really, really wanted to be able to write a great review for this Czech-produced wooden Wobbly Stacking Pyramid by Bino World of Toys, but that’s not going to be possible. We bought this from a local furniture store and it was the first stacker I’d seen that I really liked. Unfortunately, after getting it […]

Good Stuff: Sack-N-Seat

August 5, 2008

At eighteen months, my son is just big enough to sit up to the table in a normal chair, but way too wiggly to stay there for long. We use his high chair at home, but I’m too busy trying to stash his extra stuffed giraffe and some clean underwear in our luggage to imagine […]
